Purpose:

    The device is designed to prevent high-quality recording on a dictaphone, or any other deivce with microphone, used by a negotiator. Ultrasonic cancellation is effective against high-quality broadband microphones. Acoustics perfectly complement ultrasound by suppressing band-limited microphones.

Specifications:

   The device is made from an aluminum surface (Fig. 1). Battery powered. Convenient to carry and use. Fire safety. It is controlled from the front panel.

    On the front panel of the USPD-2 (left to right) (Fig. 2):

• toggle switch, power and charging connector (19V.)- 3.5 sockets for connecting external devices
• button and microphone for recording and converting owner’s speech
• indication of inclusion in the form of a device name
• volume regulator and temporary shutdown button
• the rear panel contains 22 ultrasonic emitters 25kHz ± 1.2kHz.
• the device is powered and charged via (19V) power supply unit. 

Preparation to work:  

    Before starting to work with the device, it must be charged. If the LED near the charging connector is green, the device is charged. You can also view the battery level through the application on the phone.

    To achieve the maximum effect of acoustic suppression, it is necessary to record the voice of the owner of the device. To do this, hold down the black button next to the microphone for a few seconds until the blue LED starts blinking. Then dictate any text within a distance of 10cm to 30cm from the microphone. The duration of the recording is from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. After finishing recording, press the black button again.

    If the recording is shorter than 10 sec. then the device will return to the preset recording.

Working with the device:

     The USPD2 device is positioned with its rear panel (emitters) towards an individual or the likely listening position. The device can be switched  from the front panel . The volume is selected in advance depending on the distance of the device from an individual. The volume level should not interfere with the conversation.
